Demonized

Music
The song captures feelings of isolation, anxiety, and the need for validation, which many gay people can deeply relate to. LGBTQ+ individuals often feel distant from their families or communities, especially when faced with rejection. The anxiety and intrusive thoughts described in the lyrics mirror the mental health struggles caused by discrimination and internalized homophobia. The contemplation of escape through the afterlife underscores the tragic reality of high suicide rates in the LGBTQ+ community, driven by immense societal pressure and lack of acceptance. Struggling for validation, along with facing economic barriers to mental health care, reflects the real difficulties in seeking support. Yet, amid these challenges, the song’s message of inner strength and hope stands out, encouraging resilience and the belief that it’s possible to overcome even the darkest times.
Lyric: Another day / I always feel like I’m just further away / So hard to keep my sanity during the day / The ocean keeps telling me to get in the waves / Don’t let no one notice / Another night / Always think about a way to say goodbye / I feel so much anxiety under the light / The wind outside keeps telling me to rest up high / Go fly to the sky / Why can’t I get rid of these crazy thoughts / I want ‘em to stop / It’s crowded like a parade, I’m afraid / Will the afterlife be the place to rest my mind / And help me make it through the night / Will the underworld make it a lot easier / Not make me crazier / Validation / People try to invalidate my depression / And they make it harder to make my confession / Sad to have suicide as a fascination / The ---- I just mentioned / When it’s like that it’s hard to work on yourself when you just / can’t / Afford therapy now I’m demonized / Will the afterlife be the place to rest my mind / And help me make it through the night / Will the underworld make it a lot easier / Not make me crazier / Just keep in your mind that you’re stronger than a knight / And yes you’ll make it through the night
Artist

Bamzery

Indonesia

Bamzery, an independent artist from Indonesia, grew up in a small village where keeping up with the world was challenging. In 2000, when he was six, his village received electricity for the first time, and his father bought him a tape player. This ignited his love for music, which he listened to on the radio every day after school. Music became his sanctuary, helping him navigate and understand the world around him.

By 17, Bamzery began writing his own songs for fun, drawing inspiration from pop, pop rock, alternative, R&B, and jazz. At 20, he decided to pursue music more seriously, training his vocals independently despite facing criticism for his dedication. In 2016, he started learning music production, investing significant time in refining his craft. His vocal range and unique tone have gradually developed, allowing him to enhance the songs he creates.
